My matte neutrals palette

I took out the divider from my 15-slot empty MAC palette, and I was able to fit 25 eyeshadows! I know it does not look that pretty anymore, but its pretty darn functional!

Please click on the image to see the labels/names of each eyeshadow.

Another shot of the same palette

How can I get glowy skin?

My obsession at the moment are "luminizers". I have tried like 5000 products lol ..liquid, powder, gel..you name it....

Here are the ones that I find work the best for me:

Powder
  • Mac Vanilla (subtle beige golden sheen) and Melon (subtle peachy golden sheen) pigments!
  • NARS albatross
  • Wet n Wild Acapulco Glow
Liquid
  • Revlon's Skinlight (I tried this in Pink Light) and Benefit's Moon Beam worked well, but they slide off my face and disappear within an hour. I did love the "glow" effect they gave for that one hour though:)
Where do I apply luminizers?
I usually dust these on top of my cheekbones, and continue it up on my browbone, making a "C" shape (does this make sense?). I also apply it down the ridge of my nose.

Hope this helps someone...please let me know if you have questions.

Review: DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

Are you lazy like me? lol ..Are you always too tired by the time you come home that even the thought of removing makeup pains you..(like it does me)..

If you answered yes, then I have an easy peesy solution for you - DHC Deep Cleansing Oil.

How do you use this? Take a couple of squirt and massage it on your face. As you gently massage it over your lids, you will notice that even waterproof mascara comes off SUPER easy! Next just wash your face with water. As soon as water comes in contact with the oil, it rinses right off (its like magic:):)

I highly highly recommend this product (specially for folks who have dry skin)! It's a must have for me!

Collection: Bobbi Brown Rouge Pots

I wanted to haul some products and was looking for pictures/swatches and it's so hard to narrow down products that work for Women of Color.

So I have decided to take "true to life" some pictures and/or swatches of products (I suck at taking swatch pics:) that I own. Hopefully this will help someone.

My fav. in order of preference:

1. Powder pink (perfect for everyday/office wear)

2. Calpyso Coral (oh I love this for summer, specially when paired with Pout Apricot Totty)

3. Blushed Rose (perfect pink with brown undertones)

4. Pink Truffle (lovely brown with pink undertones)

5. Summer Tan (lovely for contouring, but you need time with this blush to get it right)

6. Raspberry (very easy to go overboard with this blush. A number of times I have ended up looking clownish..lol)

Collection: NARS blushes (I love these to pieces)

My. favs - now I can totally not pick a fav since I LOVE THEM ALL!! But the ones I tend to use reach out most frequently for are: Torrid, Sin and Dolce Vita.

I need to start using more of them..

I swapped away: Penny (tooooooo light), Exhibit A (way too pigmented, needed too much work to look decent), Turkish Red and Montenegro (difficult to blend - both are cream blush, and I had similar colors)

I am getting Orgasm, Laguna, Desire and Albatross soon!

What are you favs?

Love of the week: MAC Jest Eyeshadow

Hi All,

Each week I plan to post a list of one or more products that I am loving. The goal is to highlight items that have been in my stash forever but are not getting the love that they should :-)

To kick things off, this week I am loving MAC Jest Eyeshadow. I think this is such an overlooked color by women of color. I used it after a long time today as a wash on my lid, with just a thin line of black liquid liner and kohl and my gosh i could not believe how 'awake' I look!

Try it, hope you love it as much as I do.

What product are you loving this week?
